Nearby

  • Miners Bay: a well-known classic in the area, Miners Bay Lodge is walkable (the candy and ice cream are a good incentive to get the kids walking!  It’s about 7.5km round trip from our cottage.  They serve 3 meals a day in their restaurant, and have an awesome General Store with cottage swag, coffee, treats and souvenirs.  Well worth a pop in!
  • Moore Falls: Rockcliffe restaurant – newly opened in 2022, this is one of more upscale restaurants in the area – less than 10 min drive from our cottage. They often have live music or other fun events
  • Norland: arguably one of the best restaurants in the area, the Riverside Inn & Pub!  Great atmosphere and menu, the wood-fired pizza is popular. Make a reservation on Open Table.  There is also a 24 hour Foodland here.
  • Coboconk: the closest Tim Horton’s and awesome go karting & ice cream
  • Minden: Forget something?  No problem, you’ll likely find it in Minden!  Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Beer Store, LCBO, great waterfront for strolling, ice cream (including an epic Kawartha Dairy location), bars and restaurants & Boshkung Micro Brewery (they even do a Trivia night one night).   Awesome Farmers market every Saturday morning in the summer!
  • Kinmount: check out the old logging mill and waterfront park; for rainy days, check out the Kinmount Movie Theatre – it is super quirky but a fun indoor outing and they often show matinees in the summer.  Kinmount often has lots of summertime activities and events!
  • Carnarvon: The Rhubarb & Boshkung Brewery.  Great spot for local beer and on-site sales, plus a beautiful restaurant overlooking the lake.  Excellent wine list, food and atmosphere
